I have an XS8. I’ve never had a problem with MIDI tracks or instrument tracks in Pro Tools until this past week. I upgraded from the RME Babyface to the RME Fireface UCX. All of a sudden I’m not getting any data sent..only audio.

I downloaded MIDI OX to see if I can see any data being sent but nothing is coming up. I’ve tried all recommended settings in the Motif itself but still nothing.

any ideas?

From what you’ve said it sounds like a driver problem.

Some things to think about, not in any order:

1 - Did you install the correct driver for the Fireface?

2 - Is it possible that you are still using the old driver for the Babyface?

3 - If you installed the driver for the Fireface, did you uninstall the Babyface driver first?

4 - How are you connecting the XS to your computer for MIDI?

Seems like the problem was as I suspected....bad midi cables. I can now hear and record with midi and instrument tracks. Of course now the new problem is is that in some mode on my motif, I’m able to hear notes I play but the fireface isnt registering any audio when I play a recorded song from my motif
