How is the white color holding up on your White anniversary edition XFs? I managed to find a shop with some new stock, still. Obviously, I’m not planning on leaving an XF WH in direct sunlight, but I worry that the colour might tarnish or change to something less clean looking. Thank you. Phil |

I realize that there were fewer white XFs sold than black ones, but I’m surprised that there hasn’t as yet been a reply to Phil’s request. Anyone who owns a white XF6/7/8, please let us know how the finish is standing up. |

Ahh well, it’s too late now! My new XF7 matches your avatar. |

Congratulations. However, since my own XF6 is a black one, perhaps I should change my avatar… Image Attachments

I think the internet might break if you did that. You could change it to an earlier version you had in the halcyon 70s, when you were sporting a Zappa stache. Image Attachments

I think you’re right, with that dark avatar I might have to change my user-name to “Darth 5pin”.

Now, that’s funny. :-) However, I suspect you’re just trying to get my avatar to look more like George Duke.  ;-) |

Well, my XF7 is neither black nor white but has faded a bit from years of resting my hand just under the sequencer transport buttons :-)

Cool, You can just have another overlay made up when the fading is bad enough. I hope? |

Yes, I definitely kept all the original artwork. The overlay was so big I had to have it printed at a Staples office supply store on a special printer and super heavy gloss paper...cost me about $75 but has been well worth every penny :-) Best of luck with your white XF7! |

I own and gig with a white XF6 that I bought used. I clean it up with a Clorox wipe and it looks fine. The finish seems to be durable. Mike |

Welcome to the forum.
I’m glad your white XF6 is holding up to the cleaning it’s getting. However, if the Clorox wipes you’ve referred to are the ones I know of, they contain chlorine compounds and alcohol, both of which I’d avoid when cleaning an XF.
In my experience, if just a quick vacuuming doesn’t do the trick, then a microfiber cloth dampened with water and rung almost completely out typically works well. If that isn’t quite adequate, than a drop of dishwashing liquid in the water is usually all that’s required. |

Hey! I like my White XF’s finish better than my Black XF’s. I own a White XF6 and a Black XF6 and Black XF7. The White seems to be more ‘glossy’ and stays cleaner than my others.

Before I put the overlay on my black XF7, the only thing that kept it clean was the microfiber cloth 5pinDIN described. I had to go to an auto parts store to find one and it was about $10 but worked great. There’s just something odd about the finish that a regular cloth can’t keep clean :-) |

White XF7 - still looks great, gig / rehearse with it regularly. Curiously, does anyone know how many of these were produced? |

I got mine in January 2015, motif xf7. I only clean it with a swiffer 360 hand duster. No cleaning liquids or chemicals have ever touched it.
