I’m aware a voice can have up to 8 elements (essential equates to 8 multisamples so that you apply layers to a voice of have certain samples used for differing velocities or key ranges).

Is there a way to copy an element (or group of elements) from one voice to another?

For example, let’s say I want to copy Elements 3 and 4 from the piano sound at PRE1 A001 into a USR sound - is this possible or do I basically just need to create the elements from scratch?

Yes. See the Voice Job [F3]COPY on page 52 of the MOXF Reference Manual (http://download.yamaha.com/file/60478).

If you choose ELEMENT (as the Type) in the Copy Job, it should Copy all parameter settings from the Source ELEMENT to the Destination ELEMENT...envelope settings, filter settings, etc.
