Hi.

I need to split my microphone cable into two, not XLR, tele Contacts Will work fine.

Why… Well… Im sometimes singing backing using vocoder fake harmony recorded in seq track1 and sometimes lead.
I need 50/50 through moxf vocoder and also a clean signal and I need that one outside the moxf. If I take it through the moxf i Will have feedback om stage. I want to use all fine efx insider My mixer.

I can use an extra mixer. I can use 2 mics Side by Side.
But can I use a Y-split-cable to 2 TS from XLR (Mic).

Can it harm the moxf? Does the signal die out?

What do you think?

/Magnus

You can’t harm anything by using a spliiter.

The only issue with using a splitter is that mismatched impedances of the two devices the mike is plugged into may cause a large drop in level or undesirable change in frequency response. The solution to that would be to use a preamp in the chain and connect the splitter afterthe preamp.

So try it and see if it works. The cost of a Y cable is low enough to be worth the experiment.
