I keep trying to install the Windows 10 64bit driver (YSUSB_V199_Win) according to the instructions but it will not show up in device manager under Sound, video and game controllers for my MOXF. The driver is always displaying under USB controllers as Unknown usb device. Odd thing is I also own an MOX keyboard and plugging that into the computer my mox6 does display under Sound, video and game controllers and I can use it with my apps. But no go with the MoxF. Running on a Dell notebook 64bit Win10 Home. I have two other Dell 64bit notebooks that the driver is working fine. Any ideas to troubleshoot? |

As far as I remember I was strugling for a while with the same with MOX or MOXF or migration between MO/MOX/MOXF under win7. I don’t remember any concrete solution. I tried to uninstall/reinstall driver and restart computer many times in different combinations with no success. I used an external audio interface for a while. Otherwise midi traffic was OK.

I don’t own a MOXF, nor am I running Windows 10, so the following may or may not be helpful… If your Dell has more than one USB port, you might try using a different one, then uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.
Which OS (firmware) is installed in the MOXF? If not the latest (v1.12), you might try updating it.
Also, how is the MOXF USB I/O set up? See pages 146-147 of the MOXF Reference Manual. Since the MOX apparently works correctly, you might see if making the MOXF settings match those of the MOX helps. |

As a matter of interest, where do I get the latest windows 10 version of the Yamaha USB midi driver? I have installed V1.9.9 but when I look at the available downloads on the Yamaha site, this is dated earlier than some other versions of this driver. These later dated ones have lower version numbers though! Am I using the correct version? |

One possible source:
Â
In some cases earlier version driver files are updated due to changes in documentation, and the file date reflects that. However, file information usually details which OS is compatible.

Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V1.9.9 for Windows is meant for the following OS versions:
Are you currently finding any other driver versions that claim compatibility with Windows 10? |

OK. You might have come across version 1.9.8 for Windows, which is also Windows 10 compatible. Version 1.9.9 was released to be Montage compatible - if you don’t have one of those, 1.9.8 will still work. |
