I have an XF8 with Flash.

I have an old XS All File (.XOA) that I need to load. When I try it says “sample memory full”.
All I really need from the old XS All File is the Performances.

What can I do?

What can be done depends on at least a couple of things…

1) How big (in MB) is the .X0A file?

2) How many flash modules are installed in the XF, and how much free memory is left?

Here is what I did....

FL2 was empty....so I loaded the XS All File to FL2. I then saved an XF All File without sample.
That fixed my problem.

Everything that is now in FL2 is a duplicate of FL1...so my plan is to now delete everything in FL2.

(I am certain I an doing this the hard way).

That leads me to my next question..

I notice in FL1...when I scroll thru the waveforms....at one point they start to repeat..then later on they repeat again for a 3rd time.

Can I delete all the repeats without causing a problem?

That would work, presuming none of the Performances had Parts that used Voices based on the samples.

You could either delete all or format the module.

Presuming that your XF has at least version 1.10 of the OS installed, I suggest that you read Increasing the available memory of the Flash Memory Expansion Module on page 15, and Additional option in the file loading operation on page 16 of the XF Supplementary Manual (http://download.yamaha.com/file/53105).
