Hello guys, I am a new owner of MOXF8 and I also have the Montage 7.
Obviously I am a big Yamaha fan. I am about to download some sound libraries for the MOXF but I am confused about the compatibility.
In every forum I see that the MOFX is 100% compatible with the Motif XF, however the sound libraries here available are completely different for each board. Is it possible if I purchase something for the Motif XF,it won’t work with the MOXF?

I do think that if the XF lib is an X3A/X3V file then it can be loaded into MOXF and it will work. If the same package is offered in both XF and MOXF format there may be some differences in controller assignment but that’s not sure of course.

After all I had to take the MOFX back to the store for a full refund. Great sound and functions, horrible keybed / action.
I tried playing fast repeated single notes and the keyboard response for awful! There goes the idea of having a cheap keyboard with motif sound built in.

That’s unfortunate. Some people find the MOXF keybed acceptable, others don’t.
