Hi
I bought a previously owned xf7 - Was curious if it came with cubase artist?
I didn’t get any disks unfortunately,
I just upgraded my cubasr 8.5 pro to 9 today, but sometimes I don’t bring my elicencer with me and I need to do quick edits in the road with my laptop

Would love to see if I am in anyway eligible with out a disc or license code at this time or If I should purchase a copy or maybe a new midi controller, etc if it’s packaged with it

Thanks!

Phly23

When the XF was first released it came with Cubase AI5 and an activation code. Later units got AI6.

Yes I just did some research and I figured it did.  Wonder what the best way to get a copy would be? $?

Since you’re already a Steinberg customer, you might try contacting them, explain the situation, and ask if they’ll provide a copy of AI5 or AI6 as an accommodation.

Why would you want to downgrade to Cubase Artist if you have Cubase Pro??
I believe you can copy the same program to another laptop/desktop - the only caveat being you can’t run both copies at the same time.

Based on the original post, phly23 is apparently using a hardware eLicenser, but doesn’t always have it available.

Elements 9 only costs £80. I would assume that making small edits to projects created in Pro 9, which later will be further processed in your Pro 9, would work better if you were on the same version.
There’s been a fair few additional features added since version 5/6.
