When I’m in performance mode I cant switch to voice mode.i changed the plastic push button on the panel I took me about three hours to do this I checked the switch with my meter before I put it back together and I also soldered an external momentary switch to the pna board in case this happened again and it worked for about a month and it quit today.any answers?

You’ve mentioned a “program switch”, but then not being able to switch to “voice mode”. Can I presume you’re referring to the VOICE mode switch?

Did you run the diagnostic TEST MODE before beginning work?

Yes I am referring to voice mode. How do you run a test mode?

See page 70 and following pages of this. Run test T02, checking all the switches and LEDs. Make note of any that don’t work correctly, and let us know.

Also, if you have a way of sending MIDI SysEx messages to your ES, the following will allow you to check that mode change works without using the panel switches:
F0 43 10 7F 00 0A 00 01 0n F7
where n is
0 = VOICE mode
1 = PERFORMANCE mode
2 = PATTERN mode
3 = SONG mode
4 = MASTER mode

In test mode It would only go as far as the voice button, If I power it down and then back up it goes into the voice mode but if you go into edit mode or performance mode it won’t go in voice mode I’ll have to take it apart again and check my work, thanks 5 dinn

If you have a DAW, you should be able to use that for the purpose.
For test purposes, with a PC, MIDI-OX can send SysEx.

There are similar utilities for Macs.
