Hi, I’m about to buy a windows tablet. I with to connect my moxf8 to it and play vstis. As the tablet has only 1 usb port, I was wondering if moxf8 will power it, while connected to the tablet as an audio/midi interface. Has anyone tried it? |

I use a Surface Pro with the MOXF and it works great. Just be sure to install the Yamaha/Steinberg USB Windows driver from here: http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?site=usa.yamaha.com&language=en&category_id1=16244&category_id2=16381&category;_id3=&product_id=1816956 I am using Windows 8.1 with Stagelight (DAW) and both Alchemy and Synthmaster. USB audio/MIDI work great. |

So the ‘To Host’ port actually powers the tablet?!

I believe the take-off power will be found at the “to device” USB terminal. Hopefully the poster will clarify exactly how he is connected and getting power. |

Some USB power information:
Power would indeed be expected to be drawn from the TO DEVICE connector on Motifs. |

No. Sorry. I just didn’t respond to that part as a tablet is already powered by a battery. I took the question more about whether or not it’s possible to use VSTis and read power as “can the MOXF8 run this setup”? |

There is no MIDI or audio connection over the “to device” port. |
