I’m showing my age a bit here, but I’m trying to find a fat lead sound to play the minimoog solo on Never Been Any Reason by Head East.  A couple of the presets come passably close.  Are there any 3rd party sounds/samples that anybody has discovered that surpass the ones that came already loaded?

I’m going with the lead sound known as Feeling for now.  Probably won’t do much better unless I actually go analog!

Vintage Keys, voice E1 Minimoog. That’s based on the Head East lead sound.

Btw, the minimoog on Never Been Any Reason is double-tracked. Minimoogs couldn’t play
more than one note at a time.

You could also try Easy Sounds Phat Analog I.

Thanks for the tips.  I’ve read a whole thread somewhere about the Minimoog intro and how it was multi-tracked.  I actually owned a minimoog back in the day, so I know they were monophonic.

Does the VST Arturia Minimoog V software work on Motif XF and XS?  Thanks!

So I purchased the Vintage Keys, I’m digging the Minimoog sample.  The one mentioned above is a pretty good approximation, I just crank the portamento a little at the end of the solo and I’m good to go.

No the Arturia synths do not work on ANY synth. They are
computer-only.
