Dear people, I love the piano sound “Ballad Key PRE1:010(A10)” in voice mode, but as soon as I’m using it in song or pattern mode, it looses it’s brilliance and brightness. May have something to do with those “complex sounds” or how they’re called.... How can I make this piano sound like in voice mode (if ever possible)? Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Best wishes,

It’s certainly possible, especially if any other Parts (Voices) in the Song can be compromised if necessary. Turning on Parameter with Voice is important. In addition, make sure that Insertion Effects are turned on for the piano Part.
These support articles should help:

Hi, at first @ 5pinDIN : thanks for providing those links. Loads of material, steep learning curve, I love that :-) One question: I’ve learned that we have “Insertion Effects” to tweak each voice with parameters that are NOT dependent on the environment. On the other hand we have “System Effects” that reflect the environment of the musicians, thus they are set for every part (if we are in multi timbral modes). Absolutely makes sense. But then: why can I configure “Chorus” and “Reverb” for each part individually? If I suppose the whole band to be at the same place (which should meet reality in most cases), then those “System Effects” should be the same for every part/instrument.... got my point?
Thanks,

You’re welcome.

Agreed - when a “band” is assembled in one place, the instruments should share the acoustics (real or simulated) of the space. See http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/475736 Of course, the Parts are Voices that might be played individually outside of a Mix, in which case reverb and chorus are often appropriate. Other System Effects might or might not fit well in a Mixing environment. Fortunately there’s the ability to choose which Parts use System Effects, and also to customize and store Mix Voices for any Song or Pattern. Sometimes it makes sense to copy a Song, edit effects, and compare the result with the original Song to see which appeals more to you. |
