I tested out the Performance Editor in demo mode and quickly decided to purchase a licence for the Complete Pack, which includes:

Drum Kit Editor
Master Editor
Mix Editor
Performance Editor
Total Librarian
Voice Editor

Wow! This is going to make life SO much easier, not to mention open up creative possibilities.

Very pleased!

Lawrence

Seems to be the consensus as I’ve never seen a post from someone regretting the move.
I don’t use the Melas Editors but often think of it. Usually after a marathon session of manipulating data. So I have questions and if someone could answer them I’d appreciate it.

If you have multiple Motif models would you need separate editors for each or would the waveform editor cover that? Or is there a package that addresses them all?

Can you install the editors on more than one computer?

You can try them out in demo mode, with the demo limitations clearly stated. Worked for me. :)

do you mean to connect mulltiple models and edit them all simultaneously?  hmmm, interesting question. not sure.  I’m guessing no, Melas can open multiple windows at one time but not sure it can recognize multiple keyboards connected to your computer at the same time.  but its just a guess

Hey Dave,
No, not at once. Cool idea though. What I mean is would you by one editor package for the XF. Then a separate one for the XS, and so on. After a while you’d have a tidy sum wrapped up in editors.

I did try out the demo mode quite some time ago and was surprised how easy it was for me to use. I really am a novice with computers, but I’m coming along. I started late and I’m trying to catch up.
I also contacted John Melas in regard to installing his product on multiple computers(one laptop and one desktop). For the life of me I can’t recall his response and his email went the way of a previously destroyed hard drive. I probably should message him, I just hate to take his time up with rookie questions. Being aware of the number of users here that use his editors I’m hoping to avoid that.

Hello,

An interesting tool in my opinion.

A question regarding the drum editor:
Can I easily create a custom drum kit which consists of several WAV files?
Loading the wav files into the Motif XF (using the FLASH ram) works as well?
(By using this tool.)
Or do I have to load the wav files first, and then managing them with the tool?

Best regards

Since I don’t use the Melas software, I’ll let others who do reply to your questions.

However, in case you’re not familiar with the XF’s Load multi operation, which might apply to what you’re asking about, see…
