i am trying to connect with my motif xf to the motif editor version 1.6.5 standalone but with not a success . i have an iMac and i using logic pro. i am using a usb cable that connect my motif and the computer.i tried a lot of options playing with the port ( “midi in” and “midi out") and i always get a message “ time out error” or “firmware version error”.
the midi in / out interface on my motif is set to “USB” and midi sync is set to “internal”
what am i doing wrong?

It’s hard to tell what might be wrong based on your post. Let’s start with a couple of things…

Which version of the OS (firmware) is installed in your XF?

Which version of the USB-MIDI Driver is installed in your Mac?

My motif xf firmeware version is 1.30.3 and i have yamaha usb-midi driver V1.3.2 on my iMac

Since you got a “firmware version error”, you might want to update the OS - the most recent version is 1.50.
