Ok....just wondering what other keyboards are being used by Motif owners.  I have an XF7 and XS6.  I rarely take both to shows.  I have always used a 2nd board.  I now use a Korg M50-73 Just sold a Roland Di and Yamaha MX61.

What boards do some of you find indispensable to live play?

Thx.

I use a P200 piano with my XF8.  I find a dedicated slab piano (graded hammer) is indispensable for live play… for me anyway.

I would probably replace the P200 with my CP4 onstage, if it could be done easily.  Problem is, the CP4 doesn’t have the nice wide smooth control-free top that the P200 has, allowing me to lay out charts and music sheets.

I would have to re-configure my whole live stack to accommodate my book of charts some other way.  That , and after almost 16 years the P200 still pounds it out!

I’ve been considering a Hammond SK1-73 as a second board

I’ve been considering a Hammond SK1-73 as a second board

I considered that board when I decided I really wanted dedicated organ sounds, but in the end really did not want to add a 3rd keyboard on stage...and neither the slab piano or the XF was going anywhere!

I opted for a Hammond XM-2 Organ Module and Hammond XMc-2 Organ Drawbar Controller, and I have a MASTER setup on my XF to address MY ORGAN when I desire.

I have been very happy with the setup and most importantly the sound and the controls.

Thnx Cmayhle.  I didn’t consider the module avenue, mostly because I never used one and not real certain how I’d set it up with motif as a controller.  I may investigate that.  Thx

I have an XF6 and Triton studio that stay home.

I use my ES and I’ll alternate my Korgs TR61 and KARMA for most gigs.

I have an old Motif classic and Roland Fantom X6 I use for outside and beach gigs.  :)

For quick in and out Casino gigs...I use an MX 61 and Korg PS60.
10 pounds each. Very easy and lots of great sounds.
For the gigs That require a little more powerful set up.
I use MOX8 and Motif XS6.
