You cannot use a USB for the update. You must use an SMC.

Check Alex’s post again for the detail.

If you click on the “MOTIF ES OS Updater V1.08” link at the download site, part of what you’ll then be able to read is:
“- To update a MOTIF ES, you need a SMART MEDIA (8MB-128MB) and SMART MEDIA writer to copy the Updater from your computer to the SMART MEDIA.”

I think that’s quite clear.

Thanq guys, it is very clear. will get a SMC, now SMART MEDIA WRITER ? Sorry guys new at this. the writer do i have to purchase it too ?

nba design, it’s been a while. Got my SMART MEDIA CARD, will fit the ES but it does not into my laptop.
Please advise as to what needs be done for resolve ?
