Hey guys Is there a list of all the things I can control on cubase from the MX when in DAW Remote? I mean, I figured out play, stop, jog, new track and a few more, but I’m missing many more and some important like back to zero or project end… So, can I look this up somewhere, is there a list??? Also, is there a way to program new commands on the MX to operate on cubase? Thanks guys |

I know how people like to know “how many” and I often try and get that information for them, but when it comes to destinations you can control in Cubase, there were too many to count (seriously) what you cannot control you probably don’t need to control, seriously.
THey are listed in Cubase - and I think that is a good place for them to be listed…
Here is how to find them: In Cubase go to DEVICES > DEVICE SETUP > REMOTE DEVICES > highlight the MX49/MX61
_ There are six Buttons [SF1]-[SF6] these are the buttons [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], and [8] on the MX front panel.
You can setup buttons to advance through PRESETS of your favorite VSTi… explore it really is extensive. Once I started scrolling through the possibilities - I decided to forego counting them (and I certainly do not want to list them separately...) Hope that helps. :-) |

Thanks Bad_Mister I ended up figuring that out on my own yesterday, I just thought there would be a list of controls/commands and a way too assign any cubase function to any button or knob on the MX, but it seems only 6 buttons can be assignable! Anyway, can someone tell me why (at least some) settings get erase whenever I turn the keyboard off? I mean, I like the velocity curve on “soft” and it goes back to normal whenever I turn it off. Also, is there a way to make the the velocity curve even more sensitive than “soft”? |

When you change global settings like velocity curves you have to Save them before you power down. Read the manual… |

The are six assignable buttons, the others have a purpose already. See page 51 of the MX49/MX61 Data List booklet
Settings you make to UTILITY mode (your personal setup preferences) are Stored to the MX Flash ROM when you press the [STORE] button. These will backed up to an ALL data file (.X5A) and will remain as your instruments settings until you either change them or overwrite them by loading an ALL data file that contains a different set of Utility mode System Preferences.
The “wide” curve is is more sensitive than the soft curve.
Each of the eight Elements that can make up a Voice can be edited as to it’s Amplitude Sensitivity (how loudness behaves in response to velocity) as well as it’s Filter Sensitivity (how the timbre/tone behaves in response to Velocity) and Pitch Sensitivity. This is one of the very cool things about the MX - the amount of editing that is available (via the computer) increases when you connect and use the Editors.. And yet the price of the MX doesn’t break the bank. The engine is not crippled by the price point breakthrough. And given that not everyone is so inclined to do in depth editing, it is a good trade off. If you are one who enjoys the control, invest in the Melas MX TOOLS. Hope that helps |
