I don’t own an MM8, and am curious if there is a specific mellotron voice in the unit. I have an MO6 and a Rack XS and wondering how he is achieving that tone. No need to watch the whole video, still a classic. Nice job by the young ones, with the master watching… Thanks G.P.

You can create your own mellotron-like voices by selecting orchestral strings as the main element, and making the sound more “vintage” by using a band-pass filter cutting some of the lows and highs. I like also to use an LFO assigned to pitch to add slight variations in the sound.

I don´t know if the MM6 can do that, but the XS can for sure.
