I’ve recorded a song from my XF direct to my Yamaha Pocketrak in MP3 format (320k) and it sounds great apart from a phasing effect on the hi-hat and cymbals.
Can anyone advise me on what causes this and how to get rid of it?

Doubling causes it. What is causing your recording having it is anybody’s guess without any details from you.
