hey can someone help me get my xf to act as a midi controller for logic?
i tried to connect it using usb but doesnt seem to be working ,logics not recognizing it or maybe i just dont have the correct settings?
newver had a problem before with other keyboards,i tried a few setups from my manual but still not working yet?

I moved your question to the LOGIC forum heading, in case you issue is Logic related you will find fellow Logic users here.

You don’t mention but you need to download and install the appropriate Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver for your particular computer’s operating system.

You can find the driver here:

Official YAMAHA Motif XF Driver download page

Once you have that installed.
On your Motif XF:
Press [UTILITY]
Press [F5] CONTROL
Press [SF2] MIDI
Set the MIDI IN/OUT parameter = USB

If you have done all of that and just failed to mention it, forgive the redundancy, but then the issue is Logic related.

how does the process differ using a firewire card to transmit midi vs usb...?
