For those of you out there that use VST’s live:
What software are you using most?
I use Sonar with Atmosphere and FM8 around the house, and would like to use out, but find it to be really clumsy (and slow) to change sounds. Any advice or Cool hardware to enact the changes with one button, etc? I realize that sample based stuff needs time to load, but need a better way to navigate. Thanks! |

I use M-Audio Key Rig and I’m running it inside Live Professor (see: http://ifoundasound.com/?page_id=8 - currently in beta and free for use). Live Professor is truly an amazing piece of software. Allows you to setup “snapshots” that allow you to recall various presets of your VST instrument by a variety of means (key on computer keyboard, button on keyboard, etc.). These two combined allow me to quickly switch between grand piano, Rhodes, B3 organ, and analog synths at the touch of a button many times mid-song. Love this stuff. |
