Hi Guys! I have a strange issue, when i sync motif with logic via usb… When selected midi track in logic, and after playing the motif’s keyboard, when i move my transport bar in logic, it randomly sends different notes in the motif.
more detail on my video:

Please help :-)

I use: Logic Pro 9 (ver. 1.4)

First of - be careful publicly posting a video of yourself using an illegal copy of Logic.
Unless you are an Apple developer you shouldn’t be in possession of a ‘Volume License’.

I have two suggestions:

1).  Don’t send the sync to ‘All’ - only to your Yamaha Motif XS port.

2) I have weird notes and stuff happening here as well - even without any sync. It’s an issue using USB midi ever since I upgraded to the latest Yamaha USB driver. It was working fine with the previous version.
I just use FW midi - no problems.

I am also having this same problem Motif XF8 with Logic 9.5.1
Mac OS 10.6.8. The gentleman from the Logic forum on Apple suggested trashing the control surface preference file, no help.
Turning off sync in Logic solves the note issue when you drag the playhead, (or just start recording, and you get notes you didn’t play deposited on the track)
...however, you can’t use Motif’s Arpegg. or tempo based effects without the sync turned off.
I have a feeling we must be overlooking something obvious!

Thanks Larry!
I connected my Motif via MIDI cable, and problem is gone!
