What I would like to know will the MO X6 be able to load the Motif XS Voice Libraries sold on MOTIFATOR SHOP or any other Motif Library model.

I have the same question… I have a Motif Rack XS which I may end up selling to get an MOX, and I’d like to know, if I buy a voice library for the rack I have, will I be able to use it on my future MOX?

That’s sad.  Given it’s the same engine as the XS, I’m sure it’s possible to “port” the voices over manually if you’ve got that kind of patience.  :)

As the product is not out yet, save your feelings (be they sadness or glee) for when it is released. And it is not like Yamaha doesn’t update their gear. All we can say at the present time is that according to the manual there is no direct file compatibility between the Motif XS or the previous MO-series.

We agree that it seems strange that the MOX will not import Motif XS voice since the Voices appear to be very similar in their parameters.

We have asked the engineers in Japan to take a look at this right away and see what is possible. We also understand that at Frankfurt Messe , they had some meetings with John Melas about an MOX editor that could convert XS voices to MOX format.

So we feel pretty confident that some time in the future there will be a way to not only allow professional programmers to easily convert their libraries to the MOX , but also for end users to do it as well.

Hi guys,

Just wondering if there’s any update on the possibility of conversion thru John’s editor? I belong to a keyboard’s forum in Brazil and this question has been asked here, so I would like your help to answere it.

Thanks.

I believe that is the plan.

John Melas:
“The MOX Editor suite will be available in the beginning/mid June.
Of course they will contain Performance Editor.

The big news is that they will also support converting voice libraries
from Motif XF, Motif XS, S90 XS and Motif Rack XS.”

I’m waiting for the new MOX editor / editor suite too, and loading XS voices into the MOX is probably a big deal for a lot of us...I sure hope it hasn’t disappeared like the XF/XS arp manager…
