Good morning,
I have a motif ES6 and I would like to know what I have to do within my keyboard to use midi sounds in Cubase 5 and Komplete.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This thread really belongs in the Steinberg/Cubase forum, not programming.

To simply play the sounds and record your playing in Cubase, set the MIDI in/outSync parameter of the ES to USB:

[UTILITY] ->[F5] MIDI -> [SF3] OTHER ->MIDI IN/OUT to USB

You will need to install the Yamaha USB driver if you have not already.

Connect the ES to your computer with a USB cable and select Motif ES Port 1 as a MIDI input in Cubase (see the Cubase manual for details).

The ES can then be used to play or record into any Cubase Instrument or MIDI track.
