............. or just a flock of over-enthousiast groupies?

Nowadays the keyboard player hopes they don’t throw their beer bottles.

Cars are not road-ready either, and they should be. You should be able to
hit a wall at 100mph and suffer no damage or injury...hey it’s 2010, right?

Well if to speak about Yamaha keyboards and some cheap cars thay are not road ready or sound ready… lol

but if to speak about car of Russian president it can hit a wall at 100MPH and service ,
‘p.s.
so in conclusion i want to say if magoryty of thinggs are like that, it does not mean that it is not possivle to overcome them, by saying this what i mean that Motif could have an engine similar to kurzweil Vast, it could have all 24 bit waweforms or better phisical modeling fo all acoustic instruments similar to hight quality VSTs, it is jast question will Yamaha do or no....
because nothing is impossible

No way that was a simple vertical drop.  That looks like significant damage from multiple impacts.  Maybe dropping it down some stairs or something similar could cause that?  Judging by that damage I’d venture to say that NO instrument (electronic OR acoustic) is road-ready!

I’ve got a Gator hard case for my XS6, and a Gator hard case for my 88-key, I haven’t had any problems with either.  Of course, I don’t often ship my stuff via airplane either. :P

And if you guys think a Motif is heavy OR fragile you should spend some time with vintage equipment!

BTW I’d expect yamaha to cover this under warranty because not adding any bumpers or airbags to a keyboard is a serious oversight.

chilly, VERY short-sighted comment:

if you ever drove a military tank (I did) then you would know that
when you hit a steady wall with 100 mph the vehicle is fine ....

..... and you are dead.  +

really if you are going to travel with your synth and you are making money with it, you need to research “nema rated” cases names don’t matter. depending on the type or touring you are doing should properly protect your investment (even insure it)
