I’m playing a Motif ES, and listening through a pair of Yamaha MSR 250’s.  My connecting cable is made by a popular lower end manufacturer sold at most music dealers.  But the qauge of the wire is only 26.  Do you think the quality of the sound is suffering because of this relatively thin wire?  Or does the gauge of the wire only matter between an amplifier and passive speakers, and not between a keyboard and powered speakers?  Thanks.

There is something like the Law of Ohm.

Audio signals have a low Voltage and low power (Watts),
so their current (Amperes) is low and the resistance of a thin wire
does not play a role. However a shielding connected to only ONE
side’s ground is preferred.

Cables from amplifier to speakers carry high power with
moderate Voltage, thus high current, so those must be thick.
For the same reason these cables are not susceptible to environmental interference.

By the way: the weakest link is always ........... lousy plugs!

;JOOP!
