On Sunday night, we can provide information on the load times on new products !  These kinds of libraries are exactly what we were thinking about when doing the product planning for the new products to be fully revealed Sunday night.

So, where can this info be found?

We want to do accurate testing of all the variables which will take some time. There are a number of new functions for loading depending on use case.

Here is the simple answer.

Loading data to the SRAM in the XF is at the same speed as loading data to the RAM in Motif XS.  Everyone here has an idea of how long loading 128 MB takes (about a minute) and that info is already available on the site.
Installing data to the Flash RAM takes longer as it is a different kind of memory.  Installing 1GB takes about 20 minutes.  Yes, this is slower than RAM , but once you do it once it is like ROM and always available to you.

Once the samples are installed on the board loading programs that access the Flash waves takes no more time than a file accessing just ROM waves because there is a new function in the XF that loads just the parameters without loading any wave data so an All file accessing 2 GB of Flash loads in about 10 seconds.

1.
Installing data to the Flash RAM takes longer as it is a different kind of memory.  Installing 1GB takes about 20 minutes. (Yamaha_US)

2.
Loading audio data into the Flash Memory takes about
2.4 seconds for one MB. 512 MB of samples will be
loaded in about 20 minutes. (MOTIFNewsGuide_2010_08_EN.pdf)

So in Europe it takes 20 minutes for 512 MB but in USA it takes 20 minutes for 1GB.

We are so screwed here in Europe.

Just joking guys.

Ok seriously how long does it take to load 1GB , 20 minutes or 40 minutes?

Sorry, it was late when we posted.  The 2.4 MB per seconds sounds correct.  So that is 2400 seconds for 1GB or 40 minutes.  Just enough time for lunch !
