I know that the XS did not have step recording. What I do on my ES8 is record a track, then select “Edit” and then go in and view the track on the screen so I can correct timing mistakes. I don’t really “need” step recording, but I DO need to be able to fix my mistakes.

Can I edit the tracks manually one track at a time on the internal sequencer on the XF?

Yes, and there are also quantize jobs to help fix timing errors.

You could do that on XS also.

Yep, I can do that on my ES8 as well. But I haven’t been able to take a look at sequencer tracks on a XS so I didn’t know if I could edit each track as on my ES7. Good to go.
