I am totally new to midi recording!! I have a midi Keyboard which I am connecting to my mac through a usb interface, could some please give me a walk though how to use this midi keyboard in logic, and asign it to the software instruments.

When you create a software intrument tracks, make sure the ‘Open Library’ box is checked. Assign an instrument or channel strip settings to each track: for instance- Acoustic Piano>Bosendorfer Piano Studio.

When you select the track in the Arrange Window, the MIDI keyboard will automatically trigger and control that track. Press Record… It’s pretty strightforward for a MIDI keyboard..
