Are the DCP, Organimation and extra “freebie” sound banks for the ES compatible with the XS rack? I understand no samples, but am curious about the rest. |

So long as those voice libraries contain no external samples and they are in Motif ES Voice Editor file format, they can be imported into the Motif Rack XS Editor and then bulk dumped into the Motif Rack XS. Regards, Brad Weber |

Thanks Brad. Is there a way to convert the w7v or w8v files to the w7e, etc. editor files without physically having the ES? |

Bradweber is right, voice bank without samples in Es format can be imported into the Xs rack, but, you can have some problem with the effects, if i remember fine Leslie simulation and or distorsion have some difference in the XS.

Unfortunately, the ES version of Organimation does NOT translate acceptably to XS format. Some of the waveforms might sound the same, but the biggest feature of Organimation is the improved rotary speaker effects, and those do not translate at all. That fact was my first indication that Organimation XS would need to be created from scratch, not simply tweaked from the ES version. If you need improved rotary speaker effects on your XS rack, Organimation XS *voices* will load via the editor software. Performances and Master mode organs will not. But one of the cool things about Organimation XS is the toolkit of voices which are there for you to easily create your own drawbar settings in a performance or multi. The improved rotary effects and stereo enhancement are there automatically. |
