I’m trying to move what i have saved on my Classic Motif to my Macbook Pro. I only have Garageband at the moment, though i hope to be running Logic soon. To move my music from Mo to Mac what would i need to do? Thanks! |

If by music, you mean MIDI files and not the audio, you would simply save the songs as MIDI files and import into Garageband… |

Hey M8M, thank you for replying. Since I’m A nube, and still trying to find my way around on a Motif, can you tell me exactly what I would need to do to move my midi files from the motif to garageband? What sequence? Most of what I have is saved under All Pattern and Allsong. Thanks again. |

OK, it’s been a few years since I’ve upgraded my Motif Classic but, you have a few options. 1) You can save each song individually as an SMF file. So when saving, choose File Type SMF, save to your smart media card. And, if you have a reader, simply move the files over to the MAC. 2) Without a reader, you can, (via USB), record the song in realtime via MIDI. The card reader will save you a lot of time… 3) Also, Page 118 of the manual references file utility software that came with the Motif to transfer file to the computer… |
