I downloaded some Mellotron patches that someone made and put the file onto a USB flash drive. I then connected the flash drive to the XS8 and pressed the “file” button. From here I could see the file was there and everything, but I don’t know what I was supposed to do after that. I tried both “Load” and “Save” and it showed a prgress bar like something was happening. So then I go to the USER bank 1 in “Voice” which is where the guy said the patches would be stored, but there’s nothing there. Or anywhere else that I looked. Can someone help me? |

Have you got some sample RAM installed in your XS? You cannot load these sounds if not. You tried ‘Save’? Why on earth would you do that? You may have overwritten the file with whatever was in your XS when you executed the Save. Save writes data from your XS to the file system, and will never read data from the file system to the XS. Just in case, check the other USR banks 2 and 3 to see if the sounds appeared in there. Df. |

hi, thanks for the reply. do i have “sample RAM” installed on my XS? i have no clue. i guess not, because i’ve never done anything to the instrument, it’s still as it was out of the box. can i just delete some of the sounds that i don’t like in order to free up enough space? the file is only 72 MB. |

You can NEVER delete factory sounds and voices.
All samples go to the memory that you think you did not install.
