I’m wondering if it’s possible to transfer settings from an ES8 to a ES rack. If so, are there limitations to what will transfer? I’m mostly interested in syncing up the user banks/any editing I’ve done to voices in the ES8. Also, how does one go about doing this? Thanks for your help. ~sakkyoku |

As long as the Voices use the internal wave ROM, they can be transferred to the Motif-Rack ES. You would accomplish this using the STUDIO MANAGER and the Motif-Rack ES Editor (VOICE).
You can save your data from the Motif ES in VOICE EDITOR File format (*.w7e)

Does this mean that any patches for the rack version of the ES sound generator must be stored in a computer or is there an internal memory? |

No, the ES Rack has it’s own memory. It can store 384 user voices. |

Thanks Derek, So, I understand now that the Motif ES rack can be updated internally, I was a bit worried if I ran into serious issues, but on a side note and I will open a new thread if necessary, exactly what is it referring to in OPT, where it says something about a limitation with Bulk Dumps? Thanks for your time. |
