I am wondering what the copyright and licensing requirements are if I create a MIDI file of a song written by another artist and want to sell it.  I have hunted around on the web for info but am not finding a clear answer.  I thought I saw a post on this forum a while back but maybe someone can point me to a good source of information.

thanks,

msr

I think you can do that with permission of owners. Like other companies they do backtracks for cover singers, or midi karaoke stuff.
