Hi,

Setup = MacPro 2x3GHz Dual Core Intel with MOTU 24I/O + 2408mk3 - 2 M-audio Midisport 8x8 - lots of VST-plus-ins + hardware.
Last week added Motif Rack XS - connected via USB to the MAC, audio connections to an (analog) mixer.
Like to use the VST-editor in Cubase5, so downloaded and installed :
- Yamaha USB-Midi driver 1.1.1.
- extensions for Motif Rack XS 1.5.0
- Motif Rack VST editor 1.2.0.
The editor won’t open within Cubase5 : every time I want to select it Cubase5 just crashes.

What am I doing wrong ?

Luc

Hi there

apparently the VST editor works only if you connect through a firewire cable. I too am connected with USB and did not work for me either. If you are connected through USB you have to download and instal the Studio MOnitor for USB and appropriate driver. After that it will work, but not as a VST plugin. Did not find there were differences anyway, it’s the same interface. a bit confusing though

We discovered the evil : Novation Automap3.
Removing Automap cured everything.
Apparently there are some problems with using one of the Novations’ midi controllers with the new Automap3 from within Cubase5.
