Hello,

I’m in the process my motif xs6 t win an mlan driver. I have installed all necessary installations. Everything goes according to the mlan guide until I get to the motif editor and I want to sync my pc to my motif. I get a time out error, when I press ok, after having selected:
Mlan instead of USB
Midi IN: Motif XS
Midi Out: Motif XS
Mlan device: MOtif xs

SO I get the error after making these adjustments.
Here is what I’m using:
PC, XP
cubase AI 4.5.2
operating system 1.10
motif xs 6
studio manager v2.3.0

Is it an update of a system issue? How do I resolve it?

Thank you in advance,

Ted .

To begin with:

Which mLAN driver did you install?

First you have to update your XS6 OS with V 1.12
You also have to install the XS editor V1.1.1
and the steinberg extension V 1.4.1

Than try again.

You should really update your Motif XS operating system to the current version 1.12

A Time Out Error is usually due to a MIDI port communication misstep. We assume you are launching the Studio Manager from within Cuabse: DEVICES > STUDIO MANAGER. And that when you launch the Motif XS Editor version 1.1.1 that your ONLINE/OFFLINE status is reading OFFLINE with the blue dot… correct?

Go to BULK > DATA SYNC and attempt to RECEIVE data from your Motif XS (select ALL data). See if that completes. If yes, then attempt the AUTO SYNC.

i had funny issues with timeout messages with one of my cables.
if you using long firewire cable or poor quality cable replace it with something better, it might not be same issue for you but worth trying, i wasted whole day trying to fix it just to discover that with good cable there was nothing to fix.
