Is there going to be a new OS solely for the sampling in the Motif XS soon?

As soon as it’s done… Not the answer you are looking for but there are many things in the works… if you have forgotten you can see that many of the things are in the process of being rolled out. ...all things in time.

Software and Drivers
People have been talking about 64 bit drivers and other software. We will be releasing a tremendous amount of software and updates in the next few weeks. This is one of the reasons we really needed to develop the new Motifator 3.0 system.

One of the core parts of this is the new Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver which will support Windows Vista64 and will allow not just peer to peer connections ( one product to one computer) , but multiple products connected to one computer.

Here is a list of software that will be released in the next few weeks.

New Yamaha Steinberg Firewire driver with added functionality and Vista 64 bit support.

IEEE1394 Firmware Updater ( mLAN16E2 )
MOTIF XS Editor VST (VST3)
MOTIF XS Extension
MOTIF-RACK XS Editor VST (VST3)
MOTIF-RACK XS Extension

n8/n12 Firmware
IEEE1394 Firmware Updater （same as MOTIF XS series)

Sweet Spot Data Manager

All of these will support Windows Vista 64 as well as the other current OS on both Windows and MAC .

Motif OS updates update
On the Motif XS OS side of things, we have been in contact with engineers we have had very positive response about a number of issues that people have raised here. Specifically, we recieved information that the LFO sync issue and the sustaining notes over loop boundaries in pattern mode will be addressed and we are working out the details of the release schedules for the next few months.

So you can expect a major release of Software and Drivers (actually) next week… then in a short amount of time after that, we anticipate the next OS update. There is no firm date for that release…
