In master mode I can use the sliders 5-9 to control part volumes on an external device based on corresponding midi-channels assigned to each slider/zone transmit channel. But is it possible somehow to also assign some buttons on the Motif XF so they can mute parts/midi-channels on an external device? For example if I use a Piano sound from the XF on Zone 1 and have a pad/string sound from an external device on zone 5 that I quickly want to toggle on and of by pressing a (mute) button. |

Welcome to the forum. There’s no need to assign anything - the ability to turn on/off internal and external Zones for Song/Pattern Masters is already a function in the XF if at least version 1.40 of the OS is installed.
Press the [PERFORMANCE CONTROL] button
See page 7 of the XF Supplementary Manual:
If your XF doesn’t have at least OS 1.40, it should be updated. The most recent XF OS is version 1.50Â . |

Just a follow-up question, is this feature also available in some update for the Motif XS as well? |

No, although there’s a way to do it from XS Master mode…
If another Master is selected, pressing [EDIT] will go directly to the Transmit screen. Obviously, it’s not as convenient as on an XF. |

Hi again, one more question regarding this. Is these convenient functions that followed the last update on the XF also available on the MOXF? |

The MOXF has the same capability of internal/external Zone switching as the XF. However, a MOXF is limited to four Zones, whether or not this function is used.
With the MOXF…
