Hi, The band is discussing fly in gigs, where I have would not be able to bring my Motif XF.

What are the challenges and possibilities of using one or more racks for this?

Are the voices compatible?
And how is the sample memory handled *if there is any?

thanks! Eric

Incompatible Data-Possibly limited conversion via Melas Editors
No User Samples/Waveforms
No User Arpeggios
The dreaded one by one loading of Multis

Sorry,

Ah,

So even on the simplest level… a single voice on the XF would not transfer to a single voice on the Rack XS?

thanks for the reply!

With just XF files, not a single Voice can be loaded to a Rack XS.

With third-party software the compatibility might still be limited. The XF has Preset Waveforms and Arps not found in the Rack XS - obviously if an XF Voice used any of them, the XS couldn’t duplicate that Voice.

Even an XS keyboard model can be somewhat of a challenge.

The XF has been around long enough that it would seem a decent backline company should be able to provide one.

Yes, i tried two Backline tests, one in San Diego, and found 1, and San Fransico they had like 6 and mostly xf8’s. So My odds are good based on the how close the venue would be to a major city.

thanks for the reply!
