Hi,
I can see that Motif can play sound of individual element by sending a note-on with velocity corresponding to velocityrange of that element. Is it possible to do the opposite: to end the sound of just one element by sending a note off with appropriate release-velocity range or by any other method?

thanks

Don’t understand your question. Are you asking if it is possible to set velocity>amp to a negative value?

You can set velocity to control a big range of destinations on the Motif, and for many of those you can set the response range positive or negative.
For example, you can set velocity to pitch EG depth to a negative value,
or set velocity to filter cutoff (for certain filter types) to a negative value. Velocity as a controller source cannot be set to negative (because it is a source and has to control some kind of destination).

I think the OP is talking about the velocity of key off samples.  Isn’t that controled by the key on velocity?

The Motif does not send Note-Off Velocity, but you can control whether a particular Element sounds or not by using the Assignable Function buttons AF1/AF2 along with eXpanded Articulation (XA) parameters.
