How do I use sounds or loops from a usb drive or external source on the MM6??

Ray,

You can not load sounds (voices) to the MM6/8 from an external device.  What is internal in the unit from the factory is all you get.  You can load performances using the internal voices from a USB memory stick.  There is a free performance bank file in the download section of this website.  It has some nice performances in it.  You can also load a .sty style (pattern) file into pattern slot 169.  This would be a style file from one of the Yamaha PSR arranger workstations.  You can only load one at a time. The MM6/8 will recognize 4 variations but no intros or endings and the voicings may or may not work, since they are optimized for the PSR line of keyboards.

Any performance banks must be located in a USER directory on the USB stick.  Any style (pattern) files must be located in the root directory of the USB stick.
