Bert Smorenburg was one of the best and most famous presenters of Yamaha keyboards in Europe, especially the Motif series.

However, he has barely been seen since the introduction of montage keyboards.

So what’s happened to Bert Smorenburg?

Maybe because in his April 12, 2016 interview he said he wasn’t too fond of the superknob....LOL
but he did say he liked being able to control multiple parameters with a single controller which BTW you can also do on a Motif not as many as on a Montage, but there is a musical and practical limit to how many parameters you would want to change with a single gesture anyway, and the number parameters controllable by a single controller on the Motif is appropriate in all but the most extreme cases.
