Hi All

I was wondering whether it was possible to have one or more elements (in VOICE mode) ignore the CC064 (Sustain) messages so that when the sustain pedal is depressed it won’t affect those elements?

Basically, I need an answer on whether the sustain message is common to ALL elements or whether the elements can be individually programmed to respond in different ways to the CC064 message.

If anybody has any advice or ideas on how this might be implements, it would be greatly appreciated.

Will be out of the studio for a while so can’t say for sure vut if you have the editor open, there will be a page where you can assign all the modulation sources and how much they will effect each element. If you can find sustain there, you should be able to set it to zero.
Sorry for the guessing but away for Crimbo here.
Merry Xmas btw ;-)

No, it can’t be done in Voice mode. While the Element Switch for certain controllers in a Controller Set can be turned on/off for each Element, unfortunately Sustain can’t be selected as a Source in a Controller Set.

However, there is a workaround using Performance mode, which may or may not suit your needs…
Copy the Voice to two User Voice locations.
- At the first Voice location turn off any Elements you want to sustain.
- At the second Voice location, turn off any Elements you don’t want to sustain.

Initialize a Performance.
- Turn on “Voice with Parameter” for Part 1, and select the first Voice for that Part.
- Turn on “Voice with Parameter” for Part 2, and select the second Voice for that Part.
- Turn off the Part 1 Receive Switch for Sustain (see [F5] RCV SW on page 69 of the MOXF Reference Manual).
- Turn on the Part 2 Receive Switch for Sustain.

Copy the System Effects of the original Voice to the Performance.
See http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/471778/

Be sure to STORE things along the way. The resulting Performance will sound like the original Voice, but pedal Sustain will only affect the Elements determined by the above.
