I am sure this was covered elsewhere but I can’t seem to find it. I want to be able to use both the editor via usb and my controller via midi at the same time...not understanding the 4 inputs and how to get the editor and my controller to work at the same time…

Any suggestions would be appreciated

This thread covered setting up things as you want…
http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/474784/
...although it does meander a bit. (If you get to the second page, ignore the post from “Olveria” - it’s SPAM.)

Port setup/routing can be confusing. The most helpful part of that thread is likely to be my sixth post. I’ll copy what should be relevant here:
------------------------
I suggest that you read Readme_MIDIPort_Editor_EN.pdf
It comes with the Editor download.

This should work…
Click Setup under “File”
On the Setup screen, USB and Detail On
Set MIDI KB In to MOTIF-R XS-3 (Port 3)
Set Port 1 - MIDI Out to MOTIF-R XS-1 (Port 1)
Set Port 4 MIDI In and MIDI Out both to MOTIF-R XS-4
Click OK
Turn Thru on at the lower right of the main screen
-------------------------
