Not sure if this is possible, but thought I’d ask.  My church has a MOXF 8 and I often use it as a controller for playing some softsynths, mainly with Reason.  What I’m wondering is there is a way to set up regions on the MOXF so different regions of the keyboard are set to different MIDI out channels?  I know dedicated MIDI controllers can do this, but wasn’t sure if it can be done with MOXF.  It would be helpful if I want to do split sounds with say one sound controlled by notes played below a cutoff point and and another with notes played above that cutoff, sent out over different MIDI channels.  Maybe even a 3 or 4 way split.

If there is a way to do this, I’m not seeing it in the manual, but I might be looking for the wrong thing.

Doable?

Thanks

The MOXF can work as a master controller, not surprisingly, in Master mode. In that mode there can be up to four active Zones at a time, and each can have its own key range, MIDI transmit channel, etc.

See the MOXF Owner’s Manual, Using as a Master Keyboard, beginning on page 57. See the Reference Manual, Master Mode beginning on page 128, with Master Edit beginning on page 130.

Thank you so much!  I searched for “Master Controller” not “Master Keyboard”.

You’re welcome. The manuals do seem to require knowing certain terms as Yamaha defines them.

We’re ALL so very lucky that 5pinDIN speaks conversational Motif.

Nah, I usually end up helping people to become even more confused about their DAW than they already were.

You supply so many with distilled, critical and helpful info.

I think you deserve a new gold plated Motifator account when you reach post 9999, otherwise if you do hit 10000, I fear some kind of fault in time and space happening, where we all buffet into an alternate universe and this forum is about alarm clock coffee percolators or something, and the site owner is called MrCoffee.

LOL. Thanks, I needed that.

I’ve also been thinking that 10,000 posts on Motifator could be unachievable for me. It’s like an asymptote - I’ll get closer and closer, but it might take infinite time to reach number 10,000.  ;-)

Yes, you could be right.

Although, ‘over’ at Percolator.com your avatar looks something like the one below:

Mine is of course of a Tefal CM361840 Subito Filter Coffee Maker, 10/12 Cup, 1.25 L

(what else could it be, really?)
