Hi there,

I recently performed a firmware update on my Motif XS8 and now the Motif won’t advance past the MOTIF XS welcome screen. I let it be for about 10 minutes, then it went blank. I did the firmware update again and it still won’t advance past the welcome screen.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I found the issue. There are (at least) two firmware updates floating around in the Motif archives. I initially downloaded version moxs112 and found a tutorial on youtube and I noticed the instructor using moxs160. So, I retried and it worked. Just posting this in case anyone else goes down the same route.

Motif XS OS version 1.12 is nearly nine years old. The most recent OS for the XS is indeed version 1.60.

If you don’t already have them, the following two PDFs are supplements to the original XS Owner’s Manual…
