...but the file name still exists, or the file still exists. If I load it it will load but instead of me scrolling through my songs, its empty songs in which all sounds are piano by default.

Can you post that file here in this thread?

Good idea - maybe there’s something recoverable within it.
If not, it might at least help reveal what happened.

You click save all.
Motif started overwriting-(ie. erased the old file and started creating the new file)
Now you cancelled this operation and so the data was not written completely on the above file.

Fine . Now you should have saved it with a different file name.

Instead, you just loaded the partially written file from the drive.
This erased your data from motif and loaded empty file.

Please is the any software that can be used to recover all file .X0A file on windows 8.

My situation is quite similar.
Wanted to save a midi file so i saved an all file mistakenly.
Some minutes later I wanted to load in the midi file into another pattern. It was the all file. It was taking so long for a midi file (I thought) to i saw ‘PRESS CANCEL TO EXIT’.

I later noticed it was an all file then I deleted from the Usb drive and my Laptop to re save a midi file only to discover that all my songs, patterns, performance, and master over a span of eight years has been lost....

I have tried some recovery softwares but they cant see the X0A file. Is there any software that can recover shift+delete. .X0A file?

Pppp

When you load an “All” file, the first thing the Motif does is initialize all the user data. Then, as the file loading proceeds, the data is replaced with that in the file. Depending on when you press EXIT will determine what has been loaded. If EXIT is pressed almost immediately, nearly all the data will be initialized, since almost none had been loaded. If EXIT is pressed near the end of loading, most of the data will be that from the file.

If you had just reloaded the “All” file, and allowed it to complete, all of your data would have been back in the Motif. Unfortunately, you deleted the “All” file from both the USB drive and the laptop, leaving nothing to reload.

Have you tried to recover the file from both the laptop and the USB drive? If you haven’t saved anything new to the USB drive, the file might still be able to be recovered from it.

If not, do you have any older “All” files? In eight years, hopefully you made previous backups - if loaded, you might lose some recent material, but at least not everything.

I can get other all files. But an invaluable job is on this latest file.

I just need someone who can recommend a way or a software that can recover this deleted all file from my laptop.

Please, anyone…

A software or process that can save.
Please....

Why are you concentrating on the laptop? Did you try the USB drive?

http://www.google.com/search?q=recover+deleted+file+from+usb+drive

Best of luck.

You might find some of the information in this helpful:

Perhaps the most important thing is to not download anything to the drive from which you are trying to recover a file, since that will often overwrite the area the file is in.

Please should do the recovery using the same system, or i will need to use another system for the recovery?

Thanks so much…

Really Love this platform.

Do as little as possible on the system or device you are trying to recover a file from. That will give you the best chance of recovering the data. If possible, download recovery software on a different system. Try recovering the file from the USB drive using that other system.

If attempting to recover from the laptop’s drive, if possible run the recovery software from another external drive.

Unfortunately, there is no certainty that recovery will be possible.
