Hi!

I´m using my XS8 mostly as a midi controller keyboard for my DAW connected to my PC via USB.
Is it possible to manually assign MIDI CC´s to the XS faders for remote mode?
I would like to assign CC7 to fader 1 and CC11 to fader 2 so I can control those parametres in my DAW with the XS´faders.
Any thoughts?

Thanks!

You cannot arbitrarily assign CCs to the faders (or the knobs) the way you do with generic MIDI controller keyboards. In Remote mode, the XS works like a Mackie Control with the sliders preassigned to track volumes in your DAW.

Actually you can, read page 257 in the operating manual. Go to MASTER mode and edit, first common edit, tab other and set knob assign to zone. Then go to each zone (1-8), tab Knobslider and you can assign both the 8 knobs and sliders to arbitrary MIDI cc.

That doesn’t work in Remote mode, though. The slider and knob assignments are overridden.

I have the same need. Just wondering whether the nanokontrol 2 is something you’d recommend, or if you got some other controller you can recommend. Thanks in advance!
