I want to make some synth samples for my XF. I’m thinking to sample them in 48k format as some of them are sine wave based and I want to retain the smooth warm sound. I’ve seen some symphonic libraries for XF/XS have samples in 48k too. What do you think about 48k, is it worth few Kb’s extra storage? Or just stick to standard 44.1k?

No. It’s not.

You will not be able to use them at 48k in your Motif product.

Will Motif downsample them on playback to 44.1? As it’s possible to load 48k samples to keybanks on Motif. But I’m not sure how they are played back. If Motif playback rate is 44.1 then I assume there’s no need for 48k.

The Motif XF will load them at 44.1kHz. Affecting the pitch of playback… Just enough to make you notice
:-)
