I am trying to sustain one note of strings in a split performance (left piano, right strings), and i basically would like to assign a controller to hold the note infinitive. I don’t want to use the foot pedal to do this, because I need to play the piano part with two hands and use the pedal only for that.

I tried to set up the modulation wheel for longer sustain of notes, but the note dies out. Is it possible to assign the mod wheel as basically a second foot pedal? Or is there another way to let the note (with similar attack) continue?
